There’s something truly magical about Christmas time at Goldcrest and Holland House. We know that the festive season means something different to every individual we support. Some love the sparkle, colour, music, and excitement. Others enjoy quieter moments, familiar routines, or one-to-one experiences that make them feel safe, understood, and included.
That’s why our team has been working closely with each of our service users to shape a Christmas that reflects their preferences, their pace, and their personalities. The result? A warm, joyful, wonderfully diverse celebration that truly belongs to our community family.
The decorations are up, the trees are twinkling, and both Goldcrest and Holland House are filled with festive touches chosen together with our service users. From sensory-friendly lights to favourite colours and meaningful ornaments, every room reflects the people who call our homes theirs. It’s not just decorating, it’s creating a comforting atmosphere that feels personal, predictable, and joyful.
This festive season we have so much planned. Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a trip to the pantomime, we’re attending as many Christmas fayres we can squeeze in, our calendar is full. We have Christmas Jumper Day on the 17th, the Goldcrest Christmas Party on the 22nd and don’t forget our New Year’s Eve Party counting down to 2026 with excitement.
And as if Christmas wasn’t exciting enough, we’re already preparing for three very special celebrations in January! Birthdays are a big deal in our homes, and we love making the day feel meaningful and personal.
Trish Patrickson Manager at Genhawk Ltd Said: “At Goldcrest and Holland House, Christmas isn’t a one-size-fits-all event. It’s a thoughtfully crafted, sensory-aware, joy-filled celebration shaped by the voices of the people who live here. We are incredibly proud of the warm, supportive community our service users and team have built. This season, we’re honouring that community with experiences that bring comfort, delight, laughter, and togetherness.”
From our home to yours, we wish you a wonderful festive season filled with joy, connection, and moments to treasure.
