As we welcome 2025 we want to reflect on what a remarkable year 2024 was. Marked by significant achievements and memorable events.
In April we held our very first Family and Friends Association meeting. Focussing on inclusivity and cooperation the Association now provides a platform for family and friends to meet one another, discuss topics specific to them in a safe space and more importantly feel included in the service delivery we provide.
Remember the Annual Stakeholder Survey in September, the results of which were impressive, reflecting the high quality of care and services provided by Genhawk across Goldcrest and Holland House. The positive feedback from stakeholders is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire team.
A heartwarming milestone was celebrated as Mark marked his 20th year being supported and cared for at Goldcrest House. The occasion was filled with music, fun, games, and delicious food, highlighting the strong sense of community and support, we really are a family, and these milestones never go unnoticed.
Throughout the year there’s never a day that goes by without the opportunity to participate in various engaging activities, fostering both learning and enjoyment.
From National Space Day, we delved into space-themed activities, sparking curiosity and discussions about the cosmos. We’ve taken part in outdoor excursions; including fun at the park and afternoon walks, promoted physical well-being and social interaction.
Our Daily Mile initiative was in full action as everyone was encouraged to engage in regular physical activity, contributing to overall health and fitness. In addition, visits to the local leisure centre wellbeing classes have been a real hit as well as our exclusive pool access offering a safe and enjoyable environment to experience swimming confidently.
We must also celebrate the retirement of our former manager, Ralph, along with team members Julie and Sue. After over 20 years of dedicated service supporting our invaluable work, they have embarked on their well-deserved journey into leisure and relaxation.
