At Goldcrest House, and Holland House, the arrival of Autumn hasn’t slowed us down one bit! Our homes have been alive with creativity, community spirit, and enriching experiences that continue to bring joy, connection and new opportunities for the people we support.
We recently hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning, raising an impressive £95 for this vital charity. The event was powered by the generosity of our staff, managers, and cooks, who rolled up their sleeves to bake an array of delicious cakes. As always, where there’s cake, there’s good company; and our dining room was filled with laughter, conversation and the comforting smell of home baking.
Two of our service users had the chance to step into the magical world of performance with a trip to the In the Night Garden Live Show and sessions with the Castaway Theatre Group. Meeting favourite characters in person and experiencing the music, lights, and atmosphere of live theatre created unforgettable memories. With the dedicated support of our staff, everyone was able to enjoy the full experience in a way that was comfortable, safe, and inclusive.
Back at Goldcrest House, we’ve also been busy outdoors. Thanks to the hard work of gardener Steve and daily help from Mark Greaves, our garden has been completely transformed. Once a trampled and tired corner, it’s now an oasis of calm — the perfect place for peaceful reflection, fresh air, and sensory relaxation. This revitalised green space is already becoming a favoured spot.
